Do I need an account to buy items on ShinyRare?

Are all offered items in the ShinyVault?

Yes, only items that are already stored in the ShinyVault can be offered for sale on the fixed price marketplace and in auctions. 

Is the fixed price marketplace always live?

Yes! 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

What are the fees at the fixed price marketplace?

On our fixed price marketplace you do not pay any fees when buying collectibles. We only charge the item price. 

Can I make price suggestions on the fixed price marketplace?

You can make price suggestions if the seller has selected the "I want to receive offers" option when listing the item. You can find more information in our Buyer's Guide.

When do the weekly auctions start?

Our weekly auctions start on Thursdays at 19:00 CET, end 10 days later on Sundays at 19:00 CET, and go directly into "Extended Bidding". 
On our homepage you will find a detailed schedule for our current auction, as well as tentative start and end dates for upcoming auctions.

Do I need to refresh the site to see the last bid in an auction?

No. The site is automatically refreshed when a new bid is placed.

How does bidding work in the weekly auction?

Users registered at level 2 or higher can place bids once the auction is live. All bids are entered according to the highest bid model. Bids are placed in fixed increments only.

Bids will be accepted until 19:00 on the last day of the auction. Then, at 19:00, extended bidding begins. If you are the highest bidder for an item at the end of the auction, you will be declared the winner.

How do maximum bids work in auctions?

All bids are placed according to the "maximum bid" model, which is usually the highest price a bidder is willing to pay for an item. When a bidder places a maximum bid, the bid automatically increases to the highest bid, but never beyond. You will be notified if you are the highest bidder, if you have been outbid, and if you have won the item.

High bids are private and can only be viewed by the customer who placed the bid. 

What are the bidding steps in auctions?

The bidding increments in the auction are based on the current price of the item and follow the following scheme:
Up to € 50,00               € 1,00 steps
Up to € 100,00             € 2,00 steps
Up to € 200,00             € 5,00 steps
Up to € 500,00             € 10,00 steps
Up to € 2.000,00          € 25,00 steps
Up to € 5.000,00          € 100,00 steps

What is "Extended Bidding"?

Extended bidding is the increased bidding period at the end of an auction. During this time, users can only bid on those items they have previously bid on. This phase is based on time windows. When a new bid is placed, a new time window is unlocked. If an item receives no new bids in a time slot and the timer expires, the auction for that lot ends.

What are the fees in the weekly auction?

A maximum bid surcharge (Buyer's Premium) of 20% is added to the highest bid. The Buyer's Premium is not included in the highest bid of the auction tool.

How can I pay for my purchases on ShinyRare?

You can pay on our website with credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, EPS and Giropay.

How much time do I have to pay for purchases on ShinyRare?

You have 5 days from receiving the invoice to pay. If no payment is received within 5 days of the invoice, the purchase will be cancelled and you may be restricted in your user rights.

Can I return purchased items?

You have the right to withdraw from a purchase or any other contract concluded with ShinyRare without giving any reason. The period for exercising the right of revocation is 14 days, calculated from the moment you gain possession of the goods. 

How much does shipping cost?

ShinyRare only ships fully insured with DHL Express. Therefore, the shipping costs depend on the recipient country, weight and value of the shipment.

How can I sell items on ShinyRare?

You can send us your collectible items to sell on the platform via the submission form on the website. Items stored in the ShinyVault can be easily and quickly listed from the digital Vault portfolio on the fixed price marketplace at any time, and also in auctions very soon.
 

Why should I sell my items on ShinyRare?

We:

Why don't I see other usernames on ShinyRare?

The ShinyRare marketplace is anonymous for the respective users among themselves and direct contact via the platform is not possible. Furthermore, all contracts are made with ShinyRare. This step ensures that the preferences of successful buyers and sellers are not made public to ensure a fair market for all. In addition, this measure prevents annoying, sometimes not seriously meant inquiries, as we know it from trading platforms with message function.

What items can I sell on ShinyRare?

On our site you can sell all Sports Cards, Trading Card Games, Collector Cards and Stickers that have been graded by one of the following grading companies : PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC, GSG, CGS, PGS, AP, AOG, PCA, GRAAD.
The list may vary. If you think we have forgotten a grading agency that belongs on the list, let us know at office@shinyrare.com and we will consider your suggestion.

Can I sell raw cards on ShinyRare?

No. Our offer is exclusive for graded items.    

How can I sell items on the fixed price marketplace?

The Fixed Price Marketplace is live 24/7/365 and you can list and delist items from your digital Vault portfolio at any time. For more information, check out our Seller's Guide.

What are the fees at the fixed price marketplace?

You do not pay any fees for listing or removing items from the fixed price marketplace. ShinyRare retains 15% of the sale price upon a successful sale.

When do the weekly auctions start?

What is "Extended Bidding"?

Extended bidding is the increased bidding period at the end of an auction. During this time, users can bid only on those items they have previously bid on. This phase is based on time windows. Does ShinyRare set a minimum price for auction items?

All items in the weekly auction start with an opening bid of €10.

What happens if my items in the weekly auction are not paid or not sold?

If an item is not paid for or does not receive the opening bid of €10, the item will be relisted in the next possible auction. If an item does not receive the opening bid of €10 in four auctions, it cannot be listed in an auction again. To avoid this process, we recommend that you list items that you believe can sell for €10 or more. 

Can I bid on my own items to achieve a minimum price?

No. Users are strictly prohibited from bidding on their own items as this is a violation of our marketplace policies. Our marketplace software is designed to prevent bidding on an item posted by the same user.

What are the fees in weekly auction?

The selling fee in weekly auctions is 0%. You get paid 100% of the highest bid for your item.
You also do not pay any fees for listing or removing items in an auction.

When will I receive payment for sold items?

Buyers have 5 days to pay invoices. Once the invoice is settled, the 14-day cancellation period starts. ShinyRare will disburse proceeds from sales to the seller's bank account within five days of the end of the revocation period.

What happens if my item is purchased but not paid for?

If no payment is received within 5 days of invoicing, the purchase will be cancelled and the item will be listed the same as before. The buyer may be restricted in his user rights.

What and where is this ShinyVault?

The ShinyVault is a secure and insured storage facility located in Graz, in beautiful Styria.  
Of course, we don't reveal the exact address for security reasons.

Can I have a look at the ShinyVault?

No. For security reasons, only ShinyRare employees have access to the vault.

Why should I store my collectibles in the ShinyVault?

Collectibles are becoming more and more like assets. That's why they should be stored protected and above all fully insured. This is not possible in a private household without a safe and accurate documentation. That is why we offer insured storage in our ShinyVault. For a small fee (the first 12 months are free!) you can be sure that your treasures are properly stored and insured. And through the digital Vault portfolio, you'll always have your collection with you, you can quickly and easily list items on the fixed price marketplace and in auctions, You can share your collectibles with others, or start a devault.

Which items can I submit?

No. The location of the ShinyVault is secret, so you can only submit your items via the submission form on the website and with the shipping label we have created from DHL. For more information, please see our Submission Guide.

Can I choose the shipping company for my submission myself?

No. Only DHL acts as the delivery service. ShinyRare only accepts submissions that are submitted via the form on the platform and shipped with the provided shipping label. You can find more information in our Submission Guide.

Will ShinyRare cover the cost of shipping if I send in a submission?

The cost of shipping a submission is the responsibility of the submitter, but we will help you with shipping by providing a fully insured label. For more information, please see our Submission Guide.

How should I package my items for shipment to ShinyRare?

We recommend that you ship your items in a box with appropriate padding to protect the items. For more information, please see our packing guide.

Why do I need to provide the insurance value of my items when I submit them?

ShinyRare will create a fully insured shipping label from DHL Express based on the information you provide on the submission form. We recommend that you provide a realistic value of your items to be covered in case of loss or damage in transit. You can find more information in our Submission Guide.

What is the fee for storing my collectibles in the ShinyVault?

Storage in the ShinyVault is free for the first 12 months! After that you only pay € 3,- per quarter for each of your items. 

Are my collectibles insured when they are stored in the ShinyVault?

Yes, the collectibles are insured at the current market value or at the price you paid for them.

Is there a removal fee and what is the shipping cost from the ShinyVault to me?

We charge 1% of the item value as a devault fee. For items purchased through ShinyRare that have been in storage for less than 12 months, we do not charge a devault fee. Standard shipping and insurance fees apply.

What is devaulting?

By devaulting, we mean the physical and digital removal of items from the ShinyVault. Devaulting is not included in the purchase price or storage fee of the items and forms a separate service. 
We also do not cover shipping costs. Shipping costs will be charged to the user who wishes to remove the item from the Vault.

Can I pick up my collection items at your location myself?

No. The location of the ShinyVault is secret, we only ship with DHL Express.

To which countries do you ship?

We only ship within the EU.

How long does it take for my collectibles to be shipped to me?

ShinyRare customers can expect all devault items to be outsourced, packed, and shipped within 7 to 10 business days after payment of the fulfillment invoice. We carefully package all items to ensure they arrive to you undamaged.

How much will it cost to ship my items from the ShinyVault to me?

Shipping prices vary and depend on the number of items, size, weight, value and destination of each shipment.

Can I choose the shipping company for my devault myself?

No. We only ship with DHL Express and fully insured.
